I started beekeeping in 2017. As an avid tea enthusiast and gardener, having access to my own honey and pollination source was important to me, and after taking many classes at the local bee supply, I fell in love with the little creatures. We can learn so much by slowing down and observing the lives of the small ones who hold the keystone to our ecosystems.

Insects have always held a fascination to me, and I draw much of my inspiration from them. The preservation of their habitat is vital to ensuring a stable, flourishing environment. As the climate continues to change due to human activity, it’s more important than ever to share knowledge, resources, and skills communally to help abate its more harmful effects.

There are things each of us can do every day to help make the world a better place for all, and no action is too small. I do my best to source my raw materials locally, ethically, and as sustainably as possible.

I learned to care for the earth from my parents, both staunch environmentalists, who valued time spent in nature both as a family and alone.

My grandmother taught my sibling and me how to craft at a young age. Days spent at her apartment were filled with all manner of projects, always overseen with a keen eye to detail and technique.

My designs are inspired by my Polonia heritage, my upbringing in the Great Lakes region of the U.S., and my own experiences as a disabled, queer creator.

foraged & found

I take inspiration from nature, as well as foraging raw materials for my craft. I take only what i need, in the safest and most ethical way I can, and let resources replenish. The rest I thrift. Very little is bought new.

small-batch

I like to put my heart into everything I make, and I like to take my time. As a disabled creator, keeping things small, slow, and joyful is key to ensuring a quality craft.

earth-conscious

I like to approach my work as a dialogue between me and the earth. Every natural material has a natural variation, and it’s endlessly exciting to see how the unique aspects of the medium manifest in the crafting process.

I like to meditate with the raw material for a while, to open my awareness to possibility.

Care of craft

Craft is, at its core, care. It is a way of community care, of passing knowledge through the spirit.

It is a way to honor memory, inspire joy, and open new paths.

It is a way of connecting across time and space, of holding warmly the past, present, and future.
